Sublimation -VS- Epoxy

As you view our products you may wonder what the difference is, other than price between Sublimation tumblers and Epoxy tumblers? 

SUBLIMATION: These tumblers have a coating on them that accepts sublimation ink. The images are printed on special sublimation paper with the sublimation ink, and then baked onto the coating. This makes a permanent image onto the tumbler. Sublimation allows for a variety of images and colors; however, you cannot add actual glitter onto a sublimation tumbler. You can use an image of glitter, but it will not give you the same shine of real glitter. Sublimation is more durable than epoxy, if you drop your tumbler, you may dent the tumbler, but the tumbler and image will be fine. You can put your sublimation tumbler into the dishwasher. DO NOT put in the microwave though...it is metal! Sublimation tumblers only take about a day for us to make. So, if you need a quick gift, this is the way to go!

EPOXY- Epoxy is a beautiful shinny finish, you can use it to coat glitter, add alcohol inks, mica powders, even saw dust A.K.A. Man glitter. Epoxy is a long process. First a tumbler must be sanded, washed, dried, then a base coat of paint matching your design is added. A day later the first coat of glitter and epoxy can go on. Then next day another epoxy coat. Then sanded again and washed. Possibly another coat of epoxy to get it smooth. Once smooth your images can be applied. After they are applied, we must wait 12 hours then apply a sealer to the images. The next day another coat of epoxy. Sand again, and another coat. Pretty much it takes one to two weeks to complete an epoxy tumbler. The reason why they are more expensive, is the amount of time and effort that goes into them. Epoxy tumblers are beautiful. They are durable as well, but if dropped they can crack. The cup itself would still work, but you would not want to use it until it was fixed, because it could cause further damage to the coating. You cannot put epoxied tumblers into the dish washer, nor the microwave. Do not leave them in a hot car or soaking in water. Both the epoxy and sublimation should be washed with a Nonabrasive cleaning sponge or rag.
